Doomscrolling

(2024)

Portraits from the perspective of your phone.

The idea for this series came from a selfie I accidentally took while I was scrolling through Instagram. I realized that as unflattering as this photo was, it was an accurate depiction of what I look like for at least a few hours a day. I became interested in this question of what our phone sees when we’re engaging in phone-addicted behavior.

Most of the series is done in soft pastel to capture a dazed, dreamlike quality.
